Did you or A ever read Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy (The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass)? Great series. We did them aloud a few years ago and the kids still pull them off the shelf. I asked them the other night to pick a book to read aloud and this was still their first choice.
S is currently tearing through Fahrenheit 451.
How about Ivanhoe?
